Ivan & Kátia

I am a proud Australian living in Brasil with my wife Kátia and her family. Kátia is a proud Brazilian living in Brasil with me :-)

Kátia and I met in Australia and were happily living life. Kátia returned to Brasil to visit family and you guessed it, a pandemic happened. Since reuniting with my wife in Brasil in January 2021 I have fallen in love with the people and the country.

I have always been stuck by the struggles of others and always try and help where I can. When I was in Australia I volunteered with Rosies-Friends on the Street, an organisation that reaches out to those most in need, people who are homeless or at risk, lonely and socially isolated within our communities.

The one thing that Kátia and I struggle with is the number of homeless and those that are in need. Wanting to help more than we are financially able to, and needing to contribute our share to the home, we created Moakia.

For us this is a perfect balance of being able to provide for ourselves while also being able to give as much as we can to those who need it most.

 We are very excited to see Moakia take off and the team grow. We want to see a family come together with the joint passion of helping others.
